Spring is in the air

Well it is the second last day of March and it feels like spring….it is sure dirty enough to be spring.  Can’t wait to wash my windows on the outside. Yuck.

While I wait I have been making some Thank You cards and Birthday cards.  I think you will be able to see the spring feel in most.  I also found a fabulous stamp at Michaels.  It had my nephews name written all over it.  He is obsessed  with growing his facial hair. I also like the vintage look of the hats and spectacles.  I use glossy accents on the glasses and then cut out the stamps and used clear mounting tape to raise them up.  A couple I tried using acetste as the lenses but very fussy.  On the flower die cut cars I used Derwent Inktense pencils and on another I used Copic markers to colour them. I also did a score and cut folding card thanks to the youtube instructions given by dawn5377.  She does some fabulous cards.

I will attach pictures and head back to do a few more.  Hope you all are having a grand day.

March madness!

Where does the time go?  It is the middle of March and thank our lucky stars most of our snow has melted.  It has been nice for a few days but the wind has been strong so I am still busy creating cards.  Last week I sold 2 and a few weeks ago another 5 were purchased, how exciting!  I am continuing to enter Stamping Bella Friday challenges and have purchased more dies and hope to see about entering other sites. I received my set of Shinhan Touch brush markers.  I purchased them from a Canadian company but not sure if I like them as much as my Copic Sketch markers.  I guess the price difference should make up for any hestitations.

I have attached a couple (by that I mean more than one) card.

Stay warm

Well it is nearing the end of February but is mighty cold out.  The temperature is minus 29 celcius. Brrrr.  What better thing to do but stay in and craft.  I quickly made a card for Bellarific Friday and was surprised it turned out as well.  I started by copic colouring the image and then decided I would use a stencil to creat a flower back ground.  Unfortunately I didn’t have a stencil so thought I would create one from my Shilouette Cameo.  Things went astray when I used a piece of plastic which wouldn’t cut so I just cut it from 110 lb cardstock.  I stamped the image again on strips of post it tape (the strips had to be placed side by side since I didn’t have sheets, waiting for my order to arrive) and cut it out.  I covered the coloured image and then taped down the makeshift stencil.   I used Tim Holtz distress inks.  When I peeled up the stencil I decided to offst the stencil and layer it over the inking.  I layered this piece over Bo Bunny designer paper and attached it to the card base.  What do you think?  I may enter it in a Simon says challenge as well.

Well it is nearly the middle of February and cold.  What better to do than make cards and craft. Oh darn where are all my supplies?  I have been frustrated with my craft room disorganization so I bit the bullet and went to Ikea and bought a Kallex storage unit.  I had to buy two separate ones since my car would only hold that lenghth.  I got the green colour since it was $30 off each.  I bought 4 drawer units and 8 doors.  I couldn’t get the drawers in the green so I bought white and I quite like the band of white.  Worked on putting it together till 3 am since my bed was the temporary landing place for my stuff.  I was exhausted but very happy.  Only one picture to hang and probably days of moving stuff from one place to another but I thought I would add a couple of pictures.  What do you think?

Love is in the air.

I recently made several cards for my sister to give to her granddaughters and I just kept crafting.  I used my Shilouette Cameo and some print and cut images.  I attached googly eyes to some.  I used glossy accents and clear Wink of Stella on some and finished with embellishments from my stach.

I also tried out my new copic markers on a couple of cards. One with the red umbrella was for the Stamping Bella Bellariffic challenge and the other with the yellow umbrella just happened.  I started with the colouring and then decided the background needed something. So I used a heart stencil from Heidi Swapp and some Versafine watermark ink.  I then used clear embossing powder and after I heat set it I sponged on some Tim Holtz distress ink.  I cut a sentiment and assembled the card.  Love it!

Well another year begins full of potential.

I have begun the year in my favourite way, making crafty things and buying more crafty products.  Ordered some copic sketch markers and can’t wait for them to arrive.  During the days leading to new years I tried a new processes.  I made a stencil on my Shilouette Cameo.  It worked out fairly well.  I will attach a card I made using it.  I took the firework stencil and used versifine embossing ink and stamped over the stencil.  I then used embossing powder in different colours.  I cut out a sentiment using my Shilouette Cameo, using gold foil paper I got on sale.

My second card is a Staming Bella stamp.  I tried using my Spectrum Noir markers on the electric charge and it bleed but I used the colourless blender pen and I was able to rescue it. I think it turned out beautifully.

I will be busy making valentine cards.  I have a request for two already so the fun begins.

Usually I am sad to say goodbye to the old year but I know there are so many new adventures to have in the coming year, I am only looking forward.  I can’t wait to try new techniques and make new cards.  Thanks to some good friends who contributed to my funds I am waiting for the delivery of a set of 72 copic markers.  My family was very generous and I got a gift card to Michaels craft store.  I re

ceived some other craft supplies including a large Xyron sticker maker.

I have attached a card I made for the last Stamping Bella challenge and I received my stamps that I purchased with my gift card from them for my November card challenge.  I used my Shilouette Cameo to cut out the hearts from red velvet ribbon and I attached the ribbon to designer paper.  I used the left over hearts and stacked letters to run down the card beside the coloured stamp.  I am looking forward to the next challenge.

I hope everyone had a very Happy Christmas and thwt everyone has a joyous New Year.
