Summer 2017

Well the warm days of summer are beginning to change to the leaves falling and more indoor crafts will be started.    I have been ordering dies, stamps and embossing folders from Aliexpress and patiently waiting their delivery. I have an order for this years Christmas invitations from my sister.  She plans ahead!  I will post a couple of pictures of last years invitations and treat bag toppers.  Hmm now I must confess I am not sure how I can surpass those.  I will need to start watching more card making YouTube videos and less US political videos.  I must admit I have been watching haul videos and have become addicted to shopping at the Dollar Tree and Dollarama here in Canada and a shout goes out to Theresa of My Everyday and Sher of Crafty Sher Cupcake.  Also I will be saying hi to Jenny Mowan and Sara of Gypsy Sara.   I think that as addictions go these are probably cheaper than some of the other things.

I will post a post of the preparations when I do make the Christmas invitations but until then I will continue to enjoy the beautiful weather.

Here are a couple of pictures of the summer projects I have made and thanks for taking time read this post.

2016 January

Well again I have been negligent about adding to my blog but since I am away from my craft room I have time to create a post.  It is almost like an addiction withdrawal.  I have spent time looking at Youtube videos and I am so inspired but haven’t my supplies with me to create.  You know you are addicted when while you are travelling you schedule stops at craft stores within a 50 mile radius.  I had to buy a new suitcase to bring back everything I found.  I have begun work on my first ever scrapbook and am looking forward to finding more things to include.  Once I have it completed I will share my results.  I am going to add a few cards I made for this past Christmas and then will sign off to plug my tablet in.  I will promise to more often in 2016.  Ok so it is now 2017 and I have finally returned.

ok Ok

I know I have neglected posting to my blog for a long time.  I have been knitting , crocheting, card mailing and making 3d paper projects.  Tried my hand a You Tube video but I will have to learn more on how to edit and do voice overs.  Always something new to learn.  Life is an adventure.  I will post a few pictures of some items I have finished.  Thanks for stopping by.

Summer in the City

Sketch challenge Aug 12

Sketch challenge Aug 12

Ok it has been a long time since I wrote on my blog…Please forgive me.  It’s just that I have been renovating and had out of town guests so my crafting was just done as required basis.  Now it is too hot to be sitting outside so I have taken a few moments to add a few of my projects to my blog.  I have made a card for a couple who married in the summer and I personalized it for the mother of the groom to give to the couple.  It was a challenge but I got to play with glitter paper and a couple of dies cut from my Silhouette Cameo.

Today I finished up two cards for my sister’s birthday and there is a story that goes with them.  When we were kids we would play the royal family.  She always got to be the queen and I was always the lady in waiting.  I got to hold her flowing robes…usually a towel or one of my mom’s old ball gowns…wasn’t my mom terrific.  Well I will decide between the two cards.  Both of these cards used digi images from Make it Crafty.  I will upload images to their web site as well.

Today I got inspired by the challenge at My Favorite Things which showed a framed circle and some stars.  This immediately made me think of the moon and the stars on Distress inked night sky.  I used three dies from My Favorite Things Blueprints 13 to make the stars and the moon. I free had cut the clouds and die cut the sentiment.

I also spent some time working on boxes from SVG cuts which I thoroughly enjoyed making.  I will post a couple of those pictures as well.  Not sure if I will be back into crafting until the cooler weather begins but you can be sure I will share what I do create.  I hope your summer has been great and thanks for reading.

May has arrived!

Well the weather has been great and I am finding it harder to stay indoors and work on cards.  The only problem is ideas come to me at night and I just keep thinking about them until  I can work them out on paper.  I have a example posted here.  I thought about the gem stamp from Altenew and then I thought the ring part would be a great shaker.  I used a cut file from my Shilouette Cameo and then used some foil paper and glitter paper to create the ring.  I cut a hole in cardstock for the shaker and used both fun foam and foam tape to raise the acetate window up.  I filled the window with beads and sequins and then added the backer paper.  I attached the panel to my yellow card base and cut out the word Congratulations from gold foil paper.  I assembled the card and voila a wedding or engagement shaker card.  I have been busy copic colouring a number of Mo Manning digital stamps so I can put together some cards for a friend to put in a seniors gift shop.  Got the colouring done but20150504_192946 20150421_165749 20150501_132111 20150504_200100 20150504_200047 20150504_200038 20150504_200011 20150504_200020 20150504_200028 now to select the card bases and designer papers and sentiments.  It will go quickly once all the materials have bee selected.  I will post pictures when I am more complete.

In the mean time I hope you enjoy these ones.

Mo digital challenge

Had fun making this baby card.  Hope you enjoy it. I used copic markers to colour him and then I used Lawn Fawn Designer  paper and added some small stars.

April Showers….hmmm

Hello all.  The days are getting longer which means more time for crafting during daylight.  I have been going through some of my cards and decided I should post a few more pictures.  I was asked to do some Thank You cards so I tried a few different folding techniques just to add interest.  I did a swing card and a Z fold (the picture is of a Birthday card I made since I had the supplies out).  I have also posted a picture of my niece’s Birthday card….her Birthday is April 19 and you know how teenage girls are always texting.  I was happy to be able to use a new stamp set from Roberto Rascal which I purchased at C.C. Design.  Speaking of stamping I received my MISTI and it is a god send.  My images are clearer and I am less frustrated.  This past weekend I made some slider cards and loved the results.  The images were from digital stamps I purchased from Mo Manning.  I also bought a Recollections stamp of bugs in a jar and made some cards using Glossy Accent to give the jars a real glass look.  I will post pictures of them when they are dry.

Well I better sign off and see what I can come up with today.
